Welcome, beautiful soul.

I’m so happy you’re here.

your journey is unique, and so is your healing.

Soulchiatry offers a holistic, collaborative, and individualized approach to mental health care and medication management.

My treatment plans are rooted in evidenced-based medicine, but I also understand that psychotropic medications may not be sufficient or suitable for everyone. With my additional training in functional and integrative psychiatry, I offer complementary approaches to optimize your treatment plan.

In addition to comprehensive management of the biological aspects of your mental health, I provide supportive talk therapy to guide you through your mental health challenges.

Hello, I’m Dr. Angelica Almazan, DO, a board-certified psychiatrist and the founder of Soulchiatry.

The Latin origin of “Psychiatry” translates to “healing of the soul”.

I created Soulchiatry to bridge the gap between spirituality and mental health — and to represent the connection between divinity and humanity within us all.

While I specialize in medication management, I know that healing is more than just taking pills, and illness is not always completely explained by our biology.

This is why I provide an eclectic, hybrid model of supportive talk therapy alongside your medical treatment, so you can be empowered as an active participant in your care – and healing.

I embrace the power of medicine and our innate human capacity to heal ourselves to help others transform their own lives, and in effect, transform the lives of those around them.

During our initial session, I will help you identify your unique challenges and highlight your unique strengths that will assist you through your healing.

It is important to acknowledge the limitations of the human body. Medications can be an essential component of the treatment plan, allowing you the mental clarity and physical stability to engage in the courageous work of introspection and meaningful change.

I will help you determine if you may benefit from medications. I will comprehensively lay out treatment options, specific to your situation, providing you the knowledge the make the most informed decision for your health. Ultimately, the choice to try medications is up to you.

Healing is a choice that only brave ones make. I honor every stage of readiness (or lack thereof) around healing because I’ve taken those steps, too.

I’ve committed to my own healing, but resistance is a familiar feeling. I know firsthand the illusion of comfort it provides.

So I welcome it, without judgment, and invite you to approach your own healing with curiosity – and with my support.
